Before the advent of the Romans, Ain Al-Oleander was qualified by tribes practicing agriculture and livestock, and upon the arrival of the Romans, Ain Al-Oleander built the “Opidom Novum” fortress to counter the attacks of the tribes, and ensure the safety and security of the plateau. Muslims did not come to the region until the tenth century AD, when the city of Miliana was founded in 362 AH by Bologin bin Ziri of the Sanhaja tribe. During the Ottoman period, Miliana was initially attached to the Beylik of the West, and after the renewal of the administration of power
